They're like walking balls of fluff and cuteness. Okay, back to business. So, you want to teach your Pekingese to play catch and fetch? Here's what you need to know: Step 1: Find the perfect ball The first thing you need to do is find the perfect ball. About

Welcome to Pekingese Guide, a resource for all things related to Pekingese dogs. This blog is dedicated to providing Pekingese owners and enthusiasts with valuable information, tips, and advice on how to take care of these adorable and unique dogs.

My name is Tracy and I fell in love with my little best friends from an early age. My grandmother raised Pekingese, and Boston Bull Dogs. My father and grandfather raised Beagles. We also had a German Shepard that was every place my brother and I went.

Over the years I have had Heinz 57 dogs, that is saying mixed breed dogs. They were awesome too!

However, my mind now I am on the other side of middle age goes to the wonderful memories of these prized AKC Pekingese. They definitely were the same and different at the same time. The way they walk, sit, beg, cry, and laugh. Yes, people, these dogs have tears and smiles!

Since I don't have a large property or kennel. I am blogging about the little funny-faced pups.

Trust me, your little lion dog won't be happy with a belly ache!    As your Pekingese pup grows into adulthood, their nutritional needs change too. As a pup, they need more protein and fat to help them grow and develop those cute little chubby cheeks. But once they hit adulthood, it's all about balance and maintaining their weight, just like us humans. I know, easier said than done.   When it comes to choosing dog food, opt for high-quality options that are specially formulated for small breeds like Pekingese. Don't settle for less, your Pekingese deserves the best! Look for dog food that has a good balance of carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals, and is made with high-quality protein sources like chicken, beef, or fish. Steer clear of dog food that contains...

Pekingese boating safety. As the weather warms up and boating season begins, it's important to keep your furry friends in mind when heading out on the water. Pekingese dogs, like any other breed, require special considerations to ensure their safety while boating. Here are some important tips to keep in mind for safe and enjoyable dog boating with your Pekingese.   Choose the Right Life Jacket: Not all dogs are natural swimmers, and even those who are may struggle in rough waters. A properly fitted life jacket can help keep your Pekingese afloat and make it easier for them to swim. Look for a life jacket specifically designed for dogs, and ensure that it fits snugly but doesn't restrict movement. Remember, a life jacket is only effective if your dog is wearing it, so make sure they're comfortable with it before heading out on the water. Stay Hydrated : Dehydration can be a serious problem for dogs, especially when exposed to sun and heat. Make sure to bring plenty of fresh...
